Asian films are gaining popularity; film experts however, proclaim that although it is a very large industry, it just does not have as effective publicity machinery as Hollywood does.

Cheap cancer test could save thousands of women
Cervical cancer causes the death of more than 250, 000 women worldwide. Researchers conducted a screening program in India and found that it could reduce the number of cervical cancer cases and deaths.
Vinegar and a halogen lamp are used to detect this form of cancer. This method is much cheaper and can be used in developing countries where people cannot afford to shell out more money for expensive tests.

NE states have their amusement parks too
Seven North Eastern states in India have had entertainment options in short supply due to the constant state of turmoil caused by militancy. These states have numerous places of beauty which are attractive tourist destinations for domestic and international travellers.
The Government invests Rs. 200 crores per year in the amusement sector alone, and private companies contribute about Rs. 40 crores, in addition. The largest state in this segment is Assam, which boasts 16 amusement parks in Guwahati.
Visitors to these destinations are now increasing steadily every year. The Accoland Amusement Park has the highest amount of investment in the private sector in tourism; it attracts large crowds who visit to enjoy the thrills of the rides and the water park.

Fashionistas flocked to 48th National Garment Fair
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) organized the 48th National Garment Fair (NGF) at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai which ended on 27th July. This apparel fair targets the domestic retail industry.
Well-known fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani showcased his elegant designs for the first time.
Retailers, vendors and brands networked amidst the spread of 250 participant companies. The success of the fair was highlighted by the 30, 000 visitors who flocked to see the array of displays from prominent players in the market.

Professional photographs are the latest trend in investments in India. Indian photographers are in demand, and collectors are buying them before the prices go through the roof.
Sotheby’s recently auctioned a photograph by Dayanita Singh for USD 12, 000. Other Indian photographers have been selected to showcase their exhibits at the Rencontres d'arles photography festival in Paris.
