What's the style this weekend?

Diwali is the time to go shopping for something new and trendy. The Indian touch in garments is in. Western elements have been removed from garments now. Kediya jackets in Kalamkari prints are doing wonders. Basic silhouettes are in vogue. The Mughal era has given lot of inspiration. Colours like gold, pink, green, maroon, magenta and black are the favourite colours from the Mughal colors.

Clothes see a comeback from the 60’s with long kurta teamed up with tight churidars and long dupattas. Skirts are either flared or straight. In men’s fashion, colours like pink, turquoise, light blue and black are trendy. Kali kurtas with churidar or Afghani salwars and waist coats are selling like hotcakes this Diwali.

Some designers have taken the legal route to tackle this problem. Suneet Verma accused fellow designer Aki Narula of ripping off his styles for Rani Mukerji in Bunty aur Babli. Ritu Kumar sued those who copied her designs.
