Acoustics in homes catching up in India

Internationally, acoustics is a full-fledged science. In India, it is still a new phenomenon which is slowly picking up. Acoustic interior design firms have stepped in to provide top-line audio-video solutions at homes.

There are some firms that specialise in the design and integration of acoustically-customised theatres for homes. However will still be some time before this concept is considered a necessity rather than a luxury.

Global models make beeline for Indian ramp

The upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in March could see more foreign models sashaying down the ramp alongside fresh Indian faces with four international models making it to the shortlist.

The four foreign models - Corina Bolintiru of Romania, Araceli Marianela of Argentina and Yana Malovska and Naty Slyusaryeva of Ukraine - made it to the shortlist of 17 aspirants during a model hunt Friday evening. However, only 10 lucky ones among the 17 will be chosen to rub shoulders with top models during the ramp event March 12-16.

A shut-eye to energise

Power naps may be a good way to raise the energy level and alertness of employees. Napping is not usually considered the thing to do at your workplace, but it has been a part of work culture in many parts of the world. There is the tradition of the afternoon siesta in Spain and Latin America, but napping is generally frowned upon and even the siesta has been mocked for leading to productivity loss.

The trend of power naps is said to be quite growing in corporate India.

e-tailing picks up steam
