Chiripal launches lifestyle apparel brand Connexions

The Ahmedabad-based Chiripal group, one of India’s leading textile conglomerates is redefining its business by launching its own Lifestyle apparel brand. Denim gets a leg up

They come in all colours and are worn by all ages. One can wear them on any occasion, at any place and any time. They are the good old denims, the 'Holy Grail' of fashion...

With more young people willing to spend far more on their jeans, denim brands are on a roll. Denim rarely goes out of fashion. All the more reason denim brands need to continuously upgrade and provide a wider range of products to stay in the marketplace. Especially the old domestic brands, hemmed in by the entry of foreign players.

Asian styles in vogue at India fashion week

Models clad in kimono-inspired dresses and sarong skirts influenced by the Orient strut down the ramp at India's premier fashion event in New Delhi.

It's all about making a break from the West. The Indian and Chinese influence is big everywhere. Models sported slanted eyebrows, geisha lips and bright knee-length socks to complete the Oriental look.

As more and more people dine out — not only to relieve mom in the kitchen, or when the cook is on holiday —eating out has become a regular lifestyle activity.

Today, cooking is considered an art, and a craft that has given good chefs celebrity status. Cooking, these days has stepped out of the traditional kitchen and become a high-flying career.

Increasing Prosperity, Growing Insecurity

It is beyond dispute that, in recent decades, the prosperity of a large segment of the Indian middle and upper classes has increased rapidly. Looking at high-rise buildings, opening of fashionable malls and the increasing number of four-wheelers in towns and cities, one may easily discern this.

With this growing prosperity, however, has come a sense of insecurity to haunt the well-to-do. This is reflected in the frantic construction of high boundary walls, erection of fences with barbed wires and the round-the-clock deployment of private security guards in the colonies inhabited by them.
