Editorial

Niche travel segments are certainly making waves – there’s gourmet tourism, medical tourism and even slum tourism for those who want to experience life on the other side of the tracks.

Our team didn’t quite have the yen for slumming it out, but yes, gourmet tourism was more suited to our palate. So this issue carries a report on gourmet tourism that we have researched and written in-house. Do avail yourself of this special report.

Other issues that grab attention in this issue are the development of support industries and infrastructure (especially airports and the aviation sector), that augur well for tourists and for tourism in India. Also, real estate has been centre stage for some time now – be it for retail, outsourcing or hospitality.

We plan to start a series on quick getaways from different destinations in India. We look forward to your contributions…do share your experiences and ideas. You can either contribute content by filling our form or through our blog.
