Venus Consultants to launch five hotel projects Venus Consultants, a Chennai-based hospitality-consulting firm, is in the process of launching several hotel projects in South India. It is revamping Hotel Kailash, a 22-room property on ECR at an investment of Rs one Crore. The rooms will be ready by January 2009 after which it will construct another block comprising 40 rooms. The new block is expected to be ready by July 2009. It will also apply for three-star classification for this property. Two properties are underway in Hyderabad - one in Kacheguda and one on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Highway. The property in Kacheguda is spread over three acres and will have a banquet hall, a marriage hall, two boardrooms, a roof garden restaurant, an amphitheatre and a pub. It will be launched in the next few months at an investment of Rs 6 Crore. The property on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Highway is a restaurant, which will be converted into a 32-room hotel. It has just launched a 42-room business hotel at an investment of Rs 12 Crore in Ranganathan Street, which is one of the busiest areas in Chennai. The company plans to add another ten rooms to the property. The introductory rates are Rs 1,200 although the original room tariff is Rs 1,600 plus taxes. The property is equipped with a restaurant and 24-hour room service. The banquet hall will be ready by end of November 2008 and the boardroom by January 2009. The company is also considering properties in Tirupur, Trichy, Kannur and Madurai. Individual entrepreneurs promote all these properties. The company is also working on a 52,000 sq ft food court project, which will come up at Matrix Mall in Chennai. The food court is expected to be ready by November 2009 at an investment of Rs 25 Lakh. It has tied up with McDonalds, KFC and Dominos to have their outlets here. It will also have small food stalls for the street food vendors who can showcase their culinary skills.
