WelcomHeritage ties up with Palms Naturals for spa services

WelcomHeritage (a JV between ITC Ltd and the Maharaja of Jodhpur, Marudhar Hotels) has entered into strategic alliance with Netherlands-based Palms Natural (involved in herbal treatment, therapies and products for beauty, health and rejuvenation) to set up, promote and operate spas in WelcomHeritage hotels. Palms Natural has also tied up with Clarks Group of Hotels to set up, promote and operate spas in its hotels. In India, Palms Naturals has its headquarters in Ooty.

Speaking exclusively to Hospitality Biz, Dr Virje Bahai Khosla, President, Palms Naturals, Ooty says, “We will bring our brand, 'Belance', to WelcomHeritage properties. Palms Naturals will set up, promote and operate the spa in select WelcomHeritage hotels across India. Therefore, we are in discussions with the WelcomHeritage hotel owners since the area, location, services and investment is at the owners’ discretion.”

Presently, the group has finalised the spa at WelcomHeritage Noor-Us-Sabah Palace, Bhopal and WelcomHeritage Pragati Resorts, Hyderabad; they will open by early 2009. Also, the group is in talks with ITC Fortune to provide its services. The spa area for WelcomHeritage Pragati Resorts, Hyderabad is around 8000 sq ft. “We are planning to launch two Hamams (traditional) and two massage treatment rooms by early 2009 for which we have tied up with Dr Virje Bahai Khosla's Palms Naturals. Later, we will use his services to commission an exclusive spa on half an acre of prime land near the hotel building,” says Ajay Bharti, Vice President, WelcomHeritage Noor-Us-Sabah Palace, Bhopal.
