Citrix, HP and Intel Collaborate to Help Businesses Realize the Benefits of Server Virtualization

Strategic Partnerships Offer Server Virtualization Solutions that Enable Customers to Achieve Increased Efficiency, Costs Savings, Availability and Business Continuity

Bangalore, India, Wednesday, October 22, 2008 Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, in collaboration with strategic partners HP and Intel reinforced its commitment to help customers achieve business benefits from server virtualization solutions through Citrix® XenServer™. Integrated into Intel-based HP ProLiant servers, Citrix XenServer enables businesses of all sizes to lower costs, improve productivity and better allocate resources across their server environments.

Sharing a common vision, Citrix and HP have been collaborating since 1996 to enable customers to implement and manage a virtualized environment with ease and efficiency. Both companies work together to provide customers with joint engineering solutions, supported by a dedicated HP team cooperating with Citrix sales, operations, marketing, consulting and integration services and technical development.

Similarly, Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure is optimized on Intel platform. Together with Intel, Citrix is enabling our customers to deliver all applications securely at the lowest cost, while optimizing bandwidth, reducing power consumption, eliminating complexity and costs in the datacenter. Leveraging the power saving advantages of Multi-core Intel® Xeon® 64-bit server platforms, Citrix and Intel deliver the highest possible number of users per server while significantly lowering power and space requirements in the datacenter

“Despite the tremendous business benefits that virtualization offers, industry estimates show that fewer than 15 percent of all servers are virtualized. Our partnership with industry leaders such as HP and Intel reflects our commitment to create greater awareness of the benefits of end-to-end virtualization technology,” said Nabeel Youakim, Vice President of Marketing, Pacific, at Citrix Systems. “With over 50 percent of all Citrix installations running on HP servers, it is a great testament of our synergistic partnership. Citrix, Intel and HP share the belief that virtualization should be a natural extension of the hardware platform, and the integration of XenServer with ProLiant uniquely combines industry’s best solutions to help businesses reduce operating costs and enable IT agility.”

“Customers have come to depend on the strong combination of Citrix software running on HP ProLiant servers to reduce costs, increase efficiency and lower business risk,” said Aman Dokania, director and general manager, Infrastructure Software, HP Asia Pacific and Japan. “With Citrix and Intel, HP is broadening its reach to customers who appreciate the ability to integrate BladeSystem and ProLiant servers with Citrix XenServer and our ProLiant Virtual Console. With XenServer, HP expects our joint value to increase for customers looking to further accelerate their business growth.”

By ensuring simple, powerful and centralized manageability, XenServer makes virtualization simple and economically feasible. Additionally, Citrix XenServer has been performance-optimized for Citrix XenApp™ workloads, application virtualization technology to enhance availability and continuity of applications while helping to optimize hardware capacity utilization without sacrificing the performance of critical business services. For more than 215,000 customers and 100 million end users around the world, centralizing applications in the datacenter and delivering them as an on-demand service to end users via XenApp has proven to be the answer to enhanced productivity, resource efficiency and business agility.

“The potential benefits and applications of virtualization for businesses are significant,” says William Wu, Server Platforms Group, Intel Asia Pacific. “Our close collaboration with Citrix and HP continues to make significant strides in the virtualization space with improved server utilization, energy-efficiency and performance throughout the server ecosystem. The successful integration of Citrix XenServer and HP Proliant servers based on Intel Virtualization technology brings further advancements to the industry and tremendous benefits to our customers in reducing costs and optimizing business agility.”

Helping Business of All Sizes Unlock the Power of Virtualization

The strategic partnerships of Citrix with HP and Intel has resulted in the creation of two highly unique virtualization packages that help to increase server and storage utilization in a consolidated server environment. With these tools, customers can provision new virtual servers and storage in a matter of minutes versus hours or days to provision physical servers and storage and dynamically allocate virtual machines (VMs) between different types of systems to suit their business requirements.

The Citrix XenServer HP Select Edition, part of the HP ProLiant iVirtualization offering, allows for faster implementation, ease-of use for HP ProLiant customers utilizing XenServer, and leveraged investments in HP management tools such as HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) for remote server management. By tightly integrating XenServer into ProLiant platforms, Citrix and HP provide a simpler deployment and management environment that speeds adoption of flexible, cost-saving server virtualization technology.

Citrix XenServer HP Enterprise Edition enhances data center flexibility and enables resource pooling and live migration. The enterprise-level package not only includes HP ProLiant Virtual Console for single server management, but also includes XenCenter for virtual machine management across multiple servers.

Citrix, HP and Intel joint solutions will be showcased in a series of roadshows across Asia Pacific in the following cities:

o October 21: Mumbai, India

o October 23: New Delhi, India

o October 29: Tokyo, Japan

o November 6: Shanghai, China

o November 25: Sydney, Australia

o November 26: Melbourne, Australia
