Tejas Networks Demos ITU-T G.8032 at Interop Event 2008

Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2008, Berlin

Bangalore, Sept 22, 2008 – Tejas Networks, a leading enabler of high-performance transmission infrastructure, announced its participation at the Multi-vendor Interop Event 2008 organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2008 (CEWC), Berlin. Tejas Networks is demonstrating end-to-end Carrier Ethernet Service delivery over a PBB/PBB-TE Aggregation Network. The Tejas solutions showcased are part of the new range of Carrier Ethernet products it is launching at CEWC.

The Interop Event 2008 involves 28 vendors and more than 100 devices. The Interop includes a number of critical test areas, including Multipoint Ethernet Services, Resiliency Mechanisms as well as Operations and Maintenance, Mobile Backhaul and Triple Play services were verified during the hot staging and are being showcased at CEWC. For the Interop Tejas Networks provided its latest Carrier Ethernet platform TJ2030.

“Tejas Networks demonstrated a logical Ethernet LAN network with a ring control protocol being standardized under ITU-T G.8032 (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching - ERPS). We measured sub-50 ms failover and restoration for the demonstrated ERPS”, said Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director, EANTC.

Commenting on the same Dr. Kumar Sivarajan, CTO, Tejas Networks said, “We are extremely happy to be part of the Interop 2008. The Interop Event takes place at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress at the Maritim ProArte Hotel, Berlin between 23rd – 25th September 2008.
