Reliance Fresh, Mumbai

I visit the Reliance Fresh outlet at Dattagi Salvi Road, Off Veera Desai Rd., Andheri West to buy vegetables and provisions.

My experience and suggestions about the shopping at Reliance Fresh store:

1. Car parking facility: To be improved. Often I had to park my cay in the open road outside the shop.

2. Look and feel of the store: Good

3. In-store shopping environment: Good

4. Range of products: Good. Many goods (such as Rawa, White whole Udad etc) are available only in 0.5 kg packs. Products such as Bagrry’s Oats are available in 1.2 kg plastic bags in other shops. Some products such as Khus Khus seeds are not available in your store.

5. Pricing of products compared to other stores: Vegetables and provisions are priced lower than other stores. Other consumer items such as soap, paste, biscuits etc. are charged full MRP, whereas other shops charge a bit less.

6. Freshness & quality of products: Freshness and quality of vegetables are poor. Today (31-03-08) I found that vegetables such as Lady’s finger, French beans, green chillies, bitter gourd and oranges appeared as though they are more than one day old. When I asked the staff about the frequency of supply of vegetables, I was told that they are supplied every day!!! One item – white cucumber (which decays fast) was found on the shelf packed on 28-03-08. If vegetables are supplied everyday, how a two day old pack was found on the shelf?

7. Courtesy and helpfulness of store staff: Good, but often in the slack hours I found less staff at the weighing and tagging of the vegetable section and I had to call them for help.

8. Time taken for billing: Often there is a long delay at the billing/payment counter, mainly because of less number of billing machines. Although there are four machines, often two or three are only available. This increases the waiting time.

9. Overall shopping experience: Average

10. Suggestions: There is always a lot of crowd at the weighing counter of the vegetable section. People do not follow queue system but charge directly to the counter without considering that other people are in the line. The placement of the weighing counter is also not appropriate, creating lot of inconvenience of shopping. Although there are two weighing counters, I have found only ONE operating till this date.

It is suggested that (i) number of weighing counters be increased and (ii ) weighing counters be
located in such a way as to cause less inconvenience to other shoppers.

11. Would you like to shop with you again? Surely, if improvements are made to make shopping with you more pleasant

12. Would you recommend our stores to your friends? Sure, if item no: 10 is expedited.
