speak as soon as they pick up the phone and their responses to each of our questions! Experience has made us become a bit smart and we now have contacts to some ‘higher-ups’ in the organization to whom we send an email, as soon as we register a complain. We have found that this is the only way we get some attention!

What is interesting is that this company, which seems to care little for customers, is keen on getting its payments in on time! If your payment does not reach them before the 16th of each month, you connection will go KAPUT! No warnings! When you register a complaint someone will tell you in a gentle tone ‘Ma’m the service has been disconnected due to non-payment’!! Eeks, if only they had reminded me, I would have paid! At times one does forget. Can they not remind us over the phone or email a couple of times before disconnecting? I did get a reminder phone call last month, so things may be changing. But, I must tell you about the time one of their collection agents had come and collected the payment cheque on the 14th of a month and our service was stopped from the 18th – Reason they had not received the details of the payment! Believe me, it takes time for the connection to be established again.

You may be wondering why I am still sticking around. Well, Air Tel, my first choice has not yet started offering service in our colony and our application for the BSNL Broadband has been ‘under process’ for over 4 months!

This is the first month when the service has been without a hitch; touch wood, for the whole month! I hope my writing this report does not cause a jinx!
