AREVA is a French nuclear energy company, engaged in designing and construction of nuclear power plants. The company has built about 100 nuclear plants in 11 countries and has a sales network in over 100 countries. Areva also supplies fuel and offers maintenance and modernization services to the nuclear power plants. Additionally, it offers engineering and project management services to power plants and nuclear reactors. The four sectors into which it operates are Fuel sector, Plants sector, Nuclear Services sector, and Equipment sector. It also serves as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Areva operates its business through three main subsidiaries namely, Areva NP (66%), Areva NC (100%) and Areva T&D (100%). Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is the sole nuclear power producing public sector company in India.
